Time zones and daylight saving
The schedule uses IANA time zones through your browser’s Intl date-time engine. London, New York and Sydney change their clocks on different dates; the resulting overlaps can shift during transition weeks. Tokyo stays on Japan Standard Time.
Weekends and session overlaps
The usual retail FX week runs from Sunday 17:00 to Friday 17:00 in New York. The schedule clips sessions to this window and to your selected local day. “Open now” labels refer to the current instant; the chart refers to your selected date.
On a typical winter weekday, London is 08:00–17:00 UTC and New York is 13:00–22:00 UTC, giving a four-hour overlap. The tool calculates the overlap for the actual date rather than assuming this example always holds.
Use the right calendar
These are conventional FX activity windows, not exchange trading hours. Broker holidays, maintenance and symbol-specific availability can differ. For futures, use the contract’s exchange calendar.
